Needlework and Textile Guild of Chicago records, 1940-1982.

Patterns, minutes, by-laws, exhibit materials, correspondence, and news clippings from the Needlework and Textile Guild of Chicago. The Guild was formed in 1926 by a group of Chicago women and was affiliated with the Decorative Arts Department of the Art Institute of Chicago. The majority of the collection is comprised of patterns used for needlework. Also included is a small quantity of minutes, by-laws, historical information, and correspondence between the Guild and the Art Institute of Chicago, including correspondence regarding the Guild's work creating textiles for the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute. Boxes 1-4 contain patterns for needlework. Box 5 contains historical information, minutes, correspondence, etc.
